Machinefabriek LUYT, a leading shipyard and winch manufacturer – consisting of Machinefabriek & Dokbedrijf LUYT BV -, has acquired the Integron Marine Controls assets and activities from the VRI Tech Group. Integron Marine specializes in pneumatics and control systems for marine engines and winches. With this strategic acquisition, LUYT further expands its maritime services and now offers a complete package of high-quality products and services, including Sempress parts, controllers, cylinders, and other essential systems for shipping, inland navigation, fishing, towing, and the offshore industry.
65 Years of Experience in Winch Manufacturing & Shipbuilding, Repair & Maintenance
LUYT is a family business that has been active in shipbuilding, winches, maintenance & repair, deck equipment, marine engines, and dry docking since 1960. The company has developed into an all-round shipyard, specializing in the design, engineering, production, repair, and overhaul of winches and winch installations for the fishing and maritime sectors, both domestically and internationally. Over the years, LUYT has delivered more than 1200 winches worldwide, known for their robustness, power, reliability, and innovation, essential for fishing, cargo, and transport vessels, towing services, dredging, and the offshore industry.
LUYT winches are fully designed and produced in-house, enabling the company to offer customized solutions that meet the specific requirements of customers. Additionally, LUYT provides 24/7 service and maintenance, making them a versatile and experienced partner for customers worldwide.
As a shipbuilder, LUYT has developed and launched a range of leading newbuild fishing vessels for clients both domestically and internationally. In 2021, LUYT won a Fishing Award for the design and realization of a beam trawler (BM-100) intended for England and was nominated for a Fishing Award in 2020 for an Irish beam trawler (WD-3), both designed and completed by LUYT.

The acquisition of Integron Marine Controls opens new doors for LUYT. Integron Marine Controls is a specialist in pneumatics and control systems for marine engines and winches, as well as the sale of controllers, cylinders, and other maritime components. LUYT takes over the sales and service of Sempress parts, including the delivery of levers, Minisem systems, and the installation of systems on-site.
With this expansion, LUYT can now offer even more comprehensive solutions to its customers, especially in fishing, inland navigation, towing, transport/shipping, offshore, and dredging sectors. In addition to the sale of parts, LUYT also offers repair and troubleshooting services, maintenance, and inspections. Thanks to a team of experienced technicians and engineers, LUYT can quickly respond to the needs of its customers.
Sempress: Quality and Continuity for Customers
Through the acquisition of Integron Marine Controls, customers can now turn to LUYT for Sempress parts, including levers, Minisem systems, and other components. Customers can count on fast delivery, expert commissioning, and excellent aftercare, all provided by LUYT’s own team. This acquisition offers security and ensures continuity for existing customers and strengthens LUYT’s position as a solid and all-round shipyard within the maritime sector.
Specialist in Winches
LUYT has proven itself as an expert in designing and producing winch systems used worldwide in the most demanding maritime environments. LUYT has its own design and engineering department where winches are designed using 3-D computer programs. Winches are developed based on regulations and standards from renowned classification societies, ISO standards, and many years of LUYT experience. LUYT winches are designed for a long lifespan and trouble-free operation. All winches are designed, built, and tested in the company’s own machine factory in Den Oever. If desired, tests can be monitored and verified by classification societies (LRS, GL, DNV, RINA, or otherwise).

VRI Tech Group
The VRI Tech Group, which includes Integron Marine Controls, has been operating for over 50 years with approximately 100 employees as a specialist in drive, lifting, and hoisting technology, energy technology, and production automation, mainly for onshore installations in industry and theaters. The sale of marine activities to LUYT fits into the VRI Tech Group’s strategy to further focus on onshore installations in Europe.
LUYT Den Oever
From its location in Den Oever, LUYT, with a team of approximately 50 employees, offers professional service and always has a skilled contact person available, 24/7. “Our engineers travel to any location or the nearest port for repairs or malfunctions, even in the evenings or on weekends.” The company has a modern and sustainable ship lift (dry dock) in the harbor that can lift vessels up to 40 meters with a weight of up to 540 tons out of the water within twenty minutes. This allows many vessels to be serviced up to a maximum draft of 5.5 meters.
Additionally, LUYT has been an official dealer (Authorized Marine Dealer) of Caterpillar marine engines for decades. Whether it concerns engines, generator sets, or winches, LUYT supplies, repairs, and maintains everything that the fishing, shipping, and maritime sectors need. Much is in stock, and other brands of marine engines and generator sets are also supplied, repaired, overhauled, or serviced by LUYT.
